Thanks for another great year!
Tekla’s annual North American User Meeting was a huge success. Tekla Structures Users from not only North America but all over the globe came to Baltimore’s beautiful Inner Harbor to partake in the two-day meeting filled with training workshops, seminars, and networking events. This year’s meeting saw a significant increase in attendance over last year’s meeting in Las Vegas with users from the USA, Canada, Mexico, Guetemala, Chile, Australia, and New Zealand. Guests arriving at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Resort on Thursday enjoyed the ever popular Tekla Welcome Cocktail Hour.
Guests mingled with Tekla staff and networked with each other while enjoying heavy hors d’ourves and drinks of their choice. The next morning Hans Ehrnrooth, President of Tekla, Inc. welcomed everyone and provided an overview of Tekla since the last year’s User Meeting. The keynote speaker, Kristin Fallon, FAIA, spoke about her involvement as the chair of the American Institute of Architects – Technology in Architectural Practice Advisory Group. Attendees gained an understanding of the effort going into the National BIM Standard as well as sound strategies to participate in model-exchange based projects.
After the opening session attendees were split into segmented breakout sessions for Steel, Engineering, and Precast Concrete. Attendees had a choice of attending several different sessions through out the two day event including Modeling Methods, Construction and Design Collaboration, Drawing Methods, the Tekla Development Roadmap, as well as General Sessions in Integrated Project Delivery and Extended Tools and .NET Development.
After a full day on Friday the attendees boarded the Catherine Marie boat for a cruise around Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and beyond. This enjoyable cruise also had great food and fun dancing. Tekla’s Marketing Team walked around snapping Polaroid pictures and placing them in specially designed User Meeting frames. A great success!
Saturday was filled with more breakout sessions and a wrap-up General Session. Download the 2007 User Meeting presentation materials by clicking on the segments below:
